Since 2017 Medical Services sees an average of 36,000 visits each academic year. As the primary home for medical services on Grounds, our team of nurses, physicians, nurse practitioners, care managers, and registered dietitians work collaboratively with other areas in Student Health and Wellness to deliver holistic medical care to students.
While our services range from troubleshooting students with tick bites to administering IV fluids the majority of our visits consist of common concerns like:

General Health Concerns: Evaluation and treatment for a variety of health issues including abdominal pain, digestive problems, acute illnesses, asthma, fatigue, dermatologic concerns, irregular periods, anxiety, and depression.

Reproductive Health Services: Providing birth control options (including IUDs, implants, emergency contraception), pregnancy counseling, cervical cancer screening (including colposcopy), STI testing, and evaluation of sexual and reproductive health issues for all genders, including care after an unwanted sexual encounter.

Preventive Care and Screenings: Administering annual flu shots, health screenings, vaccinations and immunizations (required and recommended), STI screening, and pre-travel counseling.

Specialized Care: Offering specific services such as gender-affirming care, men's and women's health services, treatment for disordered eating, allergy immunotherapy, sexual and reproductive health services, including all forms of contraceptive devices, colposcopy, and PrEP, concussions, management of chronic health conditions, and public health concerns such as COVID-19.

Wellness and Lifestyle Support: Discussing healthy relationships, healthy sleep, nutrition services, accessing nature for wellness.

- You can schedule an appointment online through the HealthyHoos patient portal. Login using your Netbadge ID and then click the "Appointments" tab on the portal's navigation bar to get started.
- We hold same-day and next-day appointments for immediate need that can only be scheduled over the phone.
